Prisoner sex ratios across 45 national jurisdictions in 1977 and 2010, with additional, smaller comparisons for parliament members, police, prosecutors, judges, and prison staff.
This dataset compares the sex composition of police, prosecutors, judges, prison staff, and prisoners within criminal justice systems worldwide from 1977 to 2006-2010. Figures for circa 1977 are constructed from the 2nd U.N. Crime Survey. The Adapted Walmsley Prisoner Dataset provides an encompassing comparison to prisoners c. 2010. For police, prosecutors, judges, prison staff, and prisoners, comparative figures for circa 2006 are constructed from the 10th U.N. Crime Survey.
